Overview

The Puntathon takes place on Saturdays

Using the Selection Form, punters select one horse for each race at Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland  (Typically 28- 30) 

Points are awarded for first (3-points), Second (2-points) and Third (1-point) place

Points for each race are accumulate and displayed via the live the Leaderboards page

Winners and prize money are displayed via Leaderboards page, winners will be contacted via the phone number provided 

Prize money will be distributed once all payments have been cleared 

Must be 18-years or over to play

Puntathon is a game of skill - not chance.

$25 to play 

• Payment Instructions are located at the end of the Selection Form. Punters will also be emailed a link that will allow for them to make a payment.

  • Please use the link provided to make a payment of $25 

  • $20 will contribute to the Pool if Winnings to be distributed at the conclusion of the game

  • $5 administration covers the costs of payment, web-hosting, game management and payment transactions for winners.

• If a punter has not made payment before the first race they will not participate in the game and be removed from the leaderboards

  • Once the payment has been made the Punter will then appear on the Leaderboard

Winners/Payments

First Place - 70% of pool

Second Place - 20% of pool

Third Place - 10% of pool

Prize money split rules:

• Two winners - One or more Thirds

  • • Combined first and second place pools (90%) are split, third place 10%

• One Winner - Two or more second places

  • • First place 70%, second and third place pools (30%) are split,   no third place

• One winner - One Second place - One or more third places 

  • • Divide third place pool (10%) among third place winners

• Three or more winners 

  • • Prize pool divided amongst first place winners

If the horse you've selected is scratched:

• Your scratched selection will be up-dated to the top cloth number in the race, for example, if your horse is scratched you will receive the number '1' in that race, if the number '1' is scratched you will receive the '2', if the '2' is scratch you will receive the next number and so on.

When the first race jumps all selections are fixed - the Puntathon then begins.

Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Puntathon, a horse tipping competition where participants can compete for a chance to win by selecting horses in races across NSW, VIC and QLD race meetings. The following terms and conditions govern your use of the Puntathon platform, so please read them carefully before you participate. By accessing or using our platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Eligibility

Participants must be 18 years or older and a resident of New South Wales (NSW), Australia to use the Puntathon platform. By registering to play, you warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and a resident of NSW. 

Registration

To participate in Puntathon, you must provide information via the Selection Form. You are responsible for submitting accurate information when entering data into the Puntathon selection form.  Puntathon reserves the right to terminate your Puntathon entry at any time, without notice or liability if you violate these terms and conditions.

Payment

To participate in Puntathon, an entry fee of $25 is required. This fee can be paid through mobile payment methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, or via traditional card payments. Please note that all payments are final and non-refundable. Payment instructions can be found at the end of the Selection Form. Additionally, punters will receive an email with a link for payment processing.

Of the $25 entry fee:

• $20 will be added to the Prize Pool, which will be distributed at the conclusion of the game.

• $5 administration fee is applied to cover the costs associated with managing the leaderboard for participants, processing payments through the form, web hosting, accessing API for horse racing data to guide selections, managing the game on the day, and handling transactions for winner payouts

Punters who fail to make their payment before the start of the first race will be ineligible to participate in the game and will not feature on the Leaderboard

Game Format

Puntathon takes place on Saturdays and involves 27-30 horse races held in Sydney, Melbourne, and Queensland. Participants select one horse for each race via the Puntathon Selection From. Points are awarded based on the finishing position of each participant's horse selection. 3 points are awarded for first place, 2 points for second place, and 1 point for third place. Points are accumulated and displayed on the live leaderboard. Puntathon is capped to 50 players per game.

Responsible Gambling

Puntathon by design promotes responsible gambling and encourages participants to gamble responsibly. You are solely responsible for managing your own gambling activity and setting appropriate limits. 

Scratched Selections

In the event that a participant's horse selection is scratched, it will be updated to the next available horse in the race, based on the top cloth number. If the top cloth number is scratched, the participant will be assigned the next available horse in the race, and so on.

Prize Money

The prize pools are split among the top finishers, with 70% going to the first place winner, 20% to the second place winner, and 10% to the third place winner. In the event of a tie, the prize money will be split among the tied participants. Prize money distributions will occur once all payments have cleared, typically within 5 days after the competition date.

Liability

Puntathon is not responsible for any losses or damages that may result from the use of our platform, including but not limited to financial losses, personal injury, or property damage. You agree to indemnify and hold Puntathon and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees harmless from any claim, demand, or damage, including reasonable legal' fees, asserted by any third party due to or arising out of your use of our platform.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

Puntathon reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time, without notice, and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of our platform after any modifications to these terms and conditions shall constitute your acceptance of the modified terms.

Privacy Policy

Puntathon is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal information that we collect from you. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Collection of Personal Information

We collect personal information from you when you complete the online form to participate in Puntathon. This information includes your email address, mobile number, and username. We use this information to administer the platform and to contact you in relation to the game. We also collect information about the horse selections you make during each Puntathon game. This information is used to calculate the points you earn and to update the live leaderboard.

Storage of Personal Information

All personal information collected by Puntathon is stored securely in a two-factor online database. Access to this this data is limited to authorised Puntathon personnel.

Use of Personal Information

Puntathon uses your personal information solely for the purpose of administering the Puntathon platform and conducting competitions. We do not share or sell your personal information to any third party.

Marketing Communications

We may use your email address or mobile number to send you marketing communications about Puntathon or other products or services that we believe may be of interest to you. You can opt out of these communications at any time by replying STOP 

Data Retention

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including the administration of the Puntathon platform and conducting competitions. We may also retain your personal information for a reasonable period afterwards to allow us to comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously and have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage.

Your Rights

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Puntathon website, and the modified privacy policy will apply to all personal information collected after the effective date of the change.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
